Week 2 - First Networked Media Production Lab
Today was the first Networked Media Production Lab for the semester. Max explained the uses of blogs and how we’ll be required to use them throughout the semester for this unit. We were then asked to go online a find some blogs that were of interest to us….I went onto technorati.com and used the search engine to find some blogs that contain material that are of interst to me.
Blogs that interested me were: Rajah.com (A blog site that provides updates and news concerning Wrestling namely the company, WWE), TheRoar.com.au (A Sports news blog that provides news and current affairs concerning Australian Sport, these posts are uploaded by employees of the site as well as members of the general public) and finally i found a blog for “Barnery Stinson” a character on TV Sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” played by Neil Patrick Harris, this blog is referenced by “Barney” throughout the show and is commentary on his (Barney’s) Social Life.
Max also demonstrated the uses of RSS (Real Simple Syndication) and how it’s a good way for you to keep in touch with your favourite blogs without actively visiting each of them. Finally he instructed us to create a blogging account for which we will be using throughout the semester.
